In a historic achievement, the Garage 56 NASCAR entry has completed the 2023 running of the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. This marks the first time a NASCAR team has competed in the iconic endurance race.

The No. 56 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, piloted by seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson and endurance racing veterans Mike Rockenfeller and Kamui Kobayashi, completed the grueling 24-hour race with a total of 342 laps completed. Despite facing challenges along the way, including repairs to the car's radiator, the team persevered and finished the race in 52nd place overall.

The Garage 56 entry is a unique collaboration between NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports, designed to showcase the technological advancements and capabilities of stock car racing. The project has been supported by NASCAR's Garage 56 program, which aims to promote innovation and diversity in the sport.

The Garage 56 entry has generated considerable interest and enthusiasm from the motorsport community, demonstrating the potential for NASCAR to compete at the highest levels of international endurance racing. The success of this project is expected to open doors for further collaboration and competition between NASCAR and other international racing series.
